How do I remove the Faucet Filter?Updated a few seconds ago

If you're getting ready to travel or planning to upgrade your sink with a new faucet fixture, you might be wondering how to safely remove your Canopy Faucet Filter. We're here to guide you through it!

Removing your filter is simple, but we recommend taking a few precautions, especially with the adapter. Threading can be delicate, and misalignment or over-tightening can sometimes cause wear, so a slow and steady approach is best.

  1. Unscrew the filter body
Gently twist the filter body (the main cylinder) counterclockwise to remove it from the adapter. If there’s any resistance, avoid forcing it. Instead, twist slowly and evenly to avoid misthreading.

  2. Remove the adapter
Cover the adaptor using the the small silicone sleeve provided or a handtowel before using a wrench to twist it off.

Just a reminder: Aerators follow the usual ‘righty-tighty, lefty-loosey’ rule, but since you're looking down at your faucet from above, the perspective flips. That means turning to the right (clockwise from above) will actually loosen the aerator, and turning to the left (counterclockwise) will tighten it, the opposite of what you'd expect!

  3. Having trouble?
If your adapter feels stuck, try soaking the tip of your faucet (with the adapter still attached) in a 50/50 mix of white vinegar and warm water for 10–15 minutes. This can help break up any mineral buildup that might be making removal difficult.

Once everything is removed, keep your filter body, adapter, gaskets, and tools together so you’re ready to reinstall whenever you need to. Whether you're packing it in your carry-on or setting it aside during a renovation, your Canopy Faucet Filter will be ready to go when you are!
