My Canopy Humidifier won't turn on, or stay onUpdated 20 days ago
If your Canopy Humidifier isn’t powering on or operating correctly there are a few possible reasons, and we’ll guide you through some troubleshooting steps to help resolve the issue.
Is your unit not turning on at all, or it is a sporadic issue? If the humidifier powers on sporadically, the water probes at the base of the unit might need cleaning. These probes are responsible for detecting water in the tray and can accumulate calcium or iron buildup from tap water. Unplug the humidifier, locate the two small metal probes, and gently clean them with a damp paper towel or melamine sponge. This simple step often fixes inconsistent power issues.
A stopped fan can result from a misplaced filter. Your Humidifier's filter sit firmly in the tray, absorbing water for dispersement. If the filter has shifted upward and is touching the fan, it can prevent the humidifier from operating. Make sure the filter is securely positioned in the tray, with the lower section fully submerged in water.
If you have a Bedside Humidifier 2.0, Nursery Humidifier 2.0 or Large Room Humidifer, start by checking the top grate of the humidifier. Our units with removable grates are equipped with a safety feature that shuts the fan off automatically if the grate isn’t securely connected to the humidifier body.
- With the 2.0 models this connection is maintained by a center tab which connects to the unit's body near the power button.
- For the Large Room we use magnets to keep things together. Turn your grate over and check to make sure the magnet closest to your power button is still in place.
If you find that your grate has been damaged, no worries! Please contact our Customer Experience team, with photos, and we'll ship you a replacement ASAP.
We want to check to determine if the power issues is being caused by the unit itself, or the cable and adaptor giving it power. To figure this out, try using a different USB-C cable to power the humidifier. Most standard USB-C cables will work with your unit. Additionally, you can test your current cable with another power brick to see if the issue lies there. If the humidifier powers on with an alternative cable or power source, let us know and if your unit is still within warranty we can arrange a replacement for the faulty component.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, please reach out to us at [email protected] with the results of your troubleshooting. We’re here to help and will work to get your humidifier back in perfect working condition as quickly as possible.
