Why is my Water Tank Emptying Faster Than Usual?Updated 16 days ago

If you’ve noticed that your Canopy Humidifier's water tank is emptying more quickly during winter, this may be due to seasonal changes in your room's humidity levels.

Canopy's Bedside, Nursery and Large Room Humidifiers are evaporative units, meaning they function by pulling in air from the room, which then passing it through our moistened filter to add moisture, and cycling this air, now mixed with water vapor back into the surrounding space. The water consumption rate can fluctuate based on how dry or humid your room is. In winter, as heating systems come on, indoor air often becomes much drier, causing the humidifier to work harder and use water more quickly to maintain a comfortable humidity level.

Typically, you can expect a full tank to last between 18 and 36 hours, depending on the size and relative humidity of the room. Rooms with low humidity or sudden changes in air dryness may fall on the shorter end of this range. If you’re noticing quicker water usage, this is likely a response to a drier room and is normal behavior for the humidifier.
